Encounter with a Third Kind

I finally get to see daddy! Well actually this is the first time that Daddy gets to see me. I am glad he sees me when I am a little bigger. I am almost 1.7cm long and Auntie Doctor says I am growing fine. Four little things are protruding from my body. Mummy says that these are known as limbs. That puzzled me further, what are those for? I am getting my regular fix of food and entertainment and the limbs seems to be a bit obsolete at this point of time. But Mummy says it will be of good use later. Shall wait and see.

Anyway Auntie Doctor says I have a good regular heartbeat and everything seems fine. Mummy and Daddy are so happy to hear that. I will get to see Auntie Doctor in a month's time. I like her. She is nice.

Corporal and Sergeant

Overheard: a conversation between Mummy and Daddy.

Seems like both of them are in favour of corporal punishment for me. What is that anyway? Anyway I would rather be a major or even a colonel ( like the colonel burger) Then to the mother of all horror, I realised that that this does not mean the rank in a military organisation but to the type of punishment I will be subjected to if I am naughty.

Can I have recruit punishment instead?

Barely Daddy

I didn't get to hear daddy's voice for the past 2 days. It seems that he is so busy with work. Mummy mentioned that Daddy got to finish marking papers. What is there to mark on paper?

Sleep Tight Sleep Early

Mummy is really tired today. She slept by like 8 plus. Granny called and she just mumbled her way through. It must have been tough carrying me around.

Daddy is watching the sitcom "Friends". Now I know who Ross is.

Gender Matters

Daddy's colleagues know about me and they are so happy for him. Mummy's colleagues also know about me. It seems like the "whole world" knows.... ;O

Anyway A colleague share with daddy that I am most probably going to be a girl. Daddy was ecstatic. It seems like Daddy have this bias towards girls. Hm... well I am still in the developmental stage and I am still not sure what gender I am. But then again Daddy reassured Mummy that he will love me whether I am a boy or girl.

Now that's nice...

The Carnivore and the Herbivore

I had this craving for meat....And poor Mummy who was a vegetarian had to start stuffing herself with meaty stuff. I had char siew pau and siew mai (all chinese tim sum). I even had a KFC banditto, which daddy drove down specially to get for me and mummy.

Auntie says that I am behaving like daddy... a carnivore at times. Well like daddy like child ;) Hm... all this writing about food is making me hungry. I am going to give Mummy a signal that it is time for my meals again.

Add On

Just a side note, Daddy went out in the middle of the night to get food for Mummy and me. So sweet... I got a Fillet O Fish. My first bite at MacDonalds..Yum Yum!

Acknowledgement

It is nice to be acknowledged. Daddy likes to touch Mummy's tummy. Actually it is to feel me. It is so nice that Daddy will "greet" me, by rubbing the tummy. Even at night before we sleep, he will try to do the same and wish me good night and sleep tight.

It is nice to be important...

Baby Poem

Wriggly inside Mummy's tummy
A lot of space to spare
I kicked and punched my poor mummy
To tell her I am in there
She took it literally (that I mean misunderstood)
And gobbled down a lot of food
I kicked her harder, telling her she got it wrong
And she thought she needed the loo!!
Hahah I am Shakespeare!!

Sleep

Daddy came back late last night. He told Mummy he wanted to wake up at 2 am to watch a soccer game. What is soccer anyway? Nay it aseems like mummy wasn't interested anyway; we both need our beauty sleep.

I guess daddy needs it too. He didn't manage to get up to watch the game.

Music for the soul

Daddy was really enthusiastic about getting something for me to listen to. It is known that classicial music will make me intelligent. Daddy is really excited and seems to be doing so much things for me. Not that I am really a big fan of classical music; Daddy plays all these weird music in the car which sometimes can be a bit jarring. Classical music might be a good change.

Mozart anyone?

The look

Sometimes I think Mummy is a bit narcissistic. She would stand in front of the full length mirror and admire the little budge in her tummy. Seems like it is a bit different from the conventional notion of a slim body. Watch out mummy, I am growing by the minute...

A day at home

Daddy and Mummy spend a whole afternoon with me.. Yipee. I felt so loved. Actually mummy is having a bad bout of morning sickness in the morning ( pun intended) and was constantly vomitting. I was so worried that I will be expunged from her system. Tsk Tsk..

Time for a nap though...

Motion Sickness

Mummy and Daddy were out (with me of course) to visit a friend who had just given birth. Daddy was pretty excited about it and he was complimenting on the baby's nice skin. Mummy even commented that it was a great thing that the baby did not inherit any of the mother's features such as her big goldfish eyes and larger than life mouth. They were having this great laugh about it and I can feel the turbulences in mommy's tummy. How could daddy and mommy be so mean and criticise other people's babies? Anyway I believe that babies are the cutest things on earth and I will be a wonderful addition to my daddy's and mommy's lives.

Mommy threw out, seems like she has this motion sickness thingy since she had me. I feel bad about it and I promise to be a real good baby for the next 9 months. Take care mommy!

Name and Sex

Daddy and Mummy are having a conversation with my aunt on what name to give me. Daddy is pretty insistent that I will be a girl. He seems to be pretty desperate to have me as a girl (weird but grammatically correct). He has already thought of a name for me, and that was when daddy and mummy are still in the midst of their courtship... What a geek! Aunty say daddy is like Ross.. who is he anyway? But I feel that the name sounds like wonderful.

We were looking through the net and found a couple of names which sound really cool, well if I am a boy, Mummy wants to call me "Braden". I think she has this huge crush on Brad Pitt.

Granny also has her two cents worth and she proposed looking for a fortune teller to pick a name for me and I can guess daddy is pretty disgusted about it.. Come on he had a name already since like 7 years ago.

I hope I will be a girl so that Daddy can use his wonderfully crafted name for me.

By the way it is "Vernice"

Sound like an ancient 13th century shipping port though...

The first encounter

Mummy just came back from her first gynae session, for her first face-to-face session with me. I am pretty excited for this will be the first time that mummy will be seeing me, so will daddy and will my granny, aunts and the many family member that dad and mum had shared this wonderful news is..

Anyway the bad news is that I am still too insignificant to be seen..

This is how I look like now...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yes the yellow box pointed by the yellow arrow is me.. The black circle surrounding it is my home for the next 8 months..

Small isn't it...

Well the wonders of life...
